Unmanufactured tobacco production fell 4.68% to 1,441 tonnes in Nepal in 2021, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Nepal reached an all time high of 9,330 tonnes in 1965 and an all time low of 618 tonnes in 2016. When compared to Nepal's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bangladesh amounted to 89,002 tonnes, 213 tonnes in Bhutan, 2,127,600 tonnes in China and 757,514 tonnes in India in 2021.
Nepal has been ranked 79th within the group of 116 countries we follow in terms of unmanufactured tobacco production, 14 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
