Unmanufactured tobacco production fell 4.50% to 29.1 tonnes in Benin in 2021, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Benin reached an all time high of 1,264 tonnes in 1973 and an all time low of 3.00 tonnes in 2016. When compared to Benin's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Burkina Faso amounted to 739 tonnes, 2,952 tonnes in Niger, 4,722 tonnes in Nigeria and 1,938 tonnes in Togo in 2021.
Benin has been ranked 114th within the group of 116 countries we follow in terms of unmanufactured tobacco production, 11 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
