Unmanufactured tobacco production fell 36.9% to 3,820 tonnes in Bulgaria in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bulgaria reached an all time high of 165,094 tonnes in 1976 and an all time low of 3,820 tonnes in 2022. When compared to Bulgaria's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Greece amounted to 13,910 tonnes, 190 tonnes in Romania, 6,601 tonnes in Serbia and 82,250 tonnes in Turkey in 2022.
Bulgaria has been ranked 55th within the group of 115 countries we follow in terms of unmanufactured tobacco production, 28 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
