Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Algeria reached an all time high of 15,164 tonnes in 2019 and an all time low of 1,933 tonnes in 1976. When compared to Algeria's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Libya amounted to 1,273 tonnes, 1,293 tonnes in Morocco, 26,020 tonnes in Spain and 2,237 tonnes in Tunisia in 2021.
