Unmanufactured tobacco production fell 17.3% to 38,738 tonnes in Zambia in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Zambia reached an all time high of 58,211 tonnes in 2005 and an all time low of 2,308 tonnes in 1992. When compared to Zambia's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Angola amounted to 2,841 tonnes, 61,636 tonnes in Tanzania, 166,919 tonnes in Zimbabwe and 3,575 tonnes in Dem. Republic of the Congo in 2022.
