Unmanufactured tobacco production fell 1.28% to 1,383 tonnes in Nepal in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Nepal reached an all time high of 9,330 tonnes in 1965 and an all time low of 618 tonnes in 2016. When compared to Nepal's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Bangladesh amounted to 92,326 tonnes, 216 tonnes in Bhutan, 2,188,100 tonnes in China and 772,152 tonnes in India in 2022.
Nepal has been ranked 79th within the group of 115 countries we follow in terms of unmanufactured tobacco production, 8 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
