Unmanufactured tobacco production fell 0.429% to 917 tonnes in Madagascar in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Madagascar reached an all time high of 5,940 tonnes in 1973 and an all time low of 900 tonnes in 2017. When compared to Madagascar's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Mozambique amounted to 95,517 tonnes, 10,000 tonnes in South Africa, 159 tonnes in Swaziland and 61,636 tonnes in Tanzania in 2022.
