Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Dem. People's Republic of Korea reached an all time high of 85,422 tonnes in 2017 and an all time low of 37,000 tonnes in 1961. When compared to Dem. People's Republic of Korea's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in China amounted to 2,127,600 tonnes, 14,237 tonnes in Japan, 28,610 tonnes in South Korea and 29,158 tonnes in Vietnam in 2021.
