By contrast, total debt reached EUR 3,488 mil at the year-end, or 42.0% of total assets, while the firm's equity amounted to EUR 2,426 mil. As a result, net debt stood at EUR 2,579 mil at the end of 2015 and accounted for 1.06 of equity.
Net debt against equity is up 0.938 pp from five years ago (0.125). The ratio against EBITDA increased from 0.235x seen in 2010 to 2.00x.
