With more staff moving from back- to front-office to support Bank's sales process, the workforce becomes more sophisticated and expensive. Staff cost increased from around 35% of total operating costs of the Bank a decade ago to some 45% now. More importantly, average staff cost increased three-fold since 2002 to USD 3,155 per employee and month in 2015.
