Severočeské Doly extracted more than 23 mil tonnes of brown coal in 2012. Nearly 70% of total has been sold to state-owned ČEZ, the main shareholder of Severočeské Doly. Based on the income statement figures, we guesstimate that Severočeské Doly's average mining cost increased to EUR 6.75 per tonne in 2012 (some 12% above the 5-year average) while the average selling price reached EUR 16.67 per tonne (only 4% above the average in 2007-2011.
