Sales of electric cars rose 249% to 59.9 thousand in Italy in 2020, according to ACEA.
Historically, sales of electric cars in Italy reached an all time high of 59.9 thousand in 2020 and an all time low of 0.864 thousand in 2013. When compared to Italy's main peers, sales of electric cars in Austria amounted to 23.6 thousand, 186 thousand in France, 1.69 thousand in Slovenia and 34.0 thousand in Switzerland in 2020.
Italy has been ranked 7th within the group of 29 countries we follow in terms of sales of electric cars, 7 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
