Sales of passenger cars rose 30.8% to 16.7 thousand in Iceland in 2022, according to ACEA.

Historically, sales of passenger cars in Iceland reached an all time high of 21.3 thousand in 2017 and an all time low of 2.11 thousand in 2009. When compared to Iceland's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Denmark amounted to 148 thousand, 174 thousand in Norway, 288 thousand in Sweden and 1,614 thousand in United Kingdom in 2022.

Iceland has been ranked 29th within the group of 30 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 67 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
