Historically, sales of passenger cars in the USA reached an all time high of 11,406 thousand in 1986 and an all time low of 3,402 thousand in 2020. When compared to USA's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Canada amounted to 319 thousand, 20,178 thousand in China, 3,810 thousand in Japan and 532 thousand in Mexico in 2020.
