Sales of passenger cars fell 22.4% to 80.4 thousand in New Zealand in 2020, according to ACEA.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in New Zealand reached an all time high of 108 thousand in 2017 and an all time low of 12.8 thousand in 1961. When compared to New Zealand's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Australia amounted to 677 thousand, 389 thousand in Indonesia, 481 thousand in Malaysia and 154 thousand in Philippines in 2020.
