Historically, sales of cars as a share of worldwide production in Nicaragua reached an all time high of 0.014% in 2018 and an all time low of 0.002% in 2019. When compared to Nicaragua's main peers, sales of cars as a share of worldwide production in Costa Rica amounted to 0.048%, 0.010% in El Salvador, 0.015% in Honduras and 1.20% in Mexico in 2019.
