Historically, sales of cars as a share of worldwide production in Austria reached an all time high of 0.955% in 1977 and an all time low of 0.438% in 1969. When compared to Austria's main peers, sales of cars as a share of worldwide production in Germany amounted to 5.44%, 0.239% in Hungary, 2.58% in Italy and 0.442% in Switzerland in 2020.
