Road transport in passengers as a share of total inland passenger transport rose 1.04% to 68.2% in Hungary in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, road transport in passengers as a share of total inland passenger transport in Hungary reached an all time high of 69.1% in 2009 and an all time low of 60.5% in 1990. When compared to Hungary's main peers, road transport in passengers as a share of total inland passenger transport in Austria amounted to 77.8%, 74.1% in Czech Republic, 78.5% in Poland and 75.8% in Slovakia in 2015.
