Historically, road injury accidents in Bulgaria reached an all time high of 8,224 in 2005 and an all time low of 4,715 in 1983. When compared to Bulgaria's main peers, road injury accidents in Greece amounted to 11,353, 30,751 in Romania, 14,382 in Serbia and 185,128 in Turkey in 2016.
