Historically, road injury accidents in Hungary reached an all time high of 27,801 in 1990 and an all time low of 15,174 in 2012. When compared to Hungary's main peers, road injury accidents in Austria amounted to 38,466, 21,386 in Czech Republic, 33,664 in Poland and 5,602 in Slovakia in 2016.
