Historically, proved reserves of natural gas in Iran reached an all time high of 1,201 trillion cb ft in 2016 and an all time low of 450 trillion cb ft in 1987. When compared to Iran's main peers, proved reserves of natural gas in Iraq amounted to 112 trillion cb ft, 19.2 trillion cb ft in Pakistan and 265 trillion cb ft in Turkmenistan in 2017.
Iran has been ranked 2nd within the group of 97 countries we follow in terms of proved reserves of natural gas.
