Production of passenger cars fell 44.3% to 928 thousand in France in 2020, according to ACEA.

Historically, production of passenger cars in France reached an all time high of 3,293 thousand in 2002 and an all time low of 928 thousand in 2020. When compared to France's main peers, production of passenger cars in Belgium amounted to 237 thousand, 3,515 thousand in Germany, 452 thousand in Italy and 1,801 thousand in Spain in 2020.
