Production of cars per 1,000 people fell 6.58% to 14.3 vehicles in China in 2020, according to ACEA.

Historically, production of cars per 1,000 people in China reached an all time high of 17.8 vehicles in 2017 and an all time low of 0.138 vehicles in 1992. When compared to China's main peers, production of cars per 1,000 people in India amounted to 2.16 vehicles, 56.6 vehicles in Japan, 9.22 vehicles in Russia and 5.82 vehicles in USA in 2020.

China has been ranked 16th within the group of 50 countries we follow in terms of production of cars per 1,000 people, 7 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
