Production of cars as a share of worldwide production fell 8.60% to 21.6% in the European Union in 2020, according to ACEA.
Historically, production of cars as a share of worldwide production in the European Union reached an all time high of 40.9% in 1998 and an all time low of 21.6% in 2020. When compared to European Union's main peers, production of cars as a share of worldwide production in China amounted to 35.8%, 12.5% in Japan, 2.26% in Russia and 3.45% in USA in 2020.
