Historically, production of cars as a share of worldwide production in the USA reached an all time high of 15.4% in 1997 and an all time low of 3.45% in 2020. When compared to USA's main peers, production of cars as a share of worldwide production in Canada amounted to 0.587%, 35.8% in China, 12.5% in Japan and 1.73% in Mexico in 2020.
