Portfolio investments fell 169% yoy to USD -431 mil in Latvia in 1Q2024, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 955% less than in the previous quarter.
Historically, portfolio investments in Latvia reached an all time high of USD 2,215 mil in 2Q2020 and an all time low of USD -1,635 mil in 1Q2018. When compared to Latvia's main peers, portfolio investments in Belarus amounted to USD -8.35 mil, USD 1,659 mil in Estonia, USD 3.89 mil in Lithuania and USD -744 mil in Russia in 1Q2024.
Latvia has been ranked 92nd within the group of 96 countries we follow in terms of portfolio investments, 49 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
