Piraeus Bank Group is a Greece-based financial group providing various banking products and services in the Southeastern Europe, Greece, Western Europe, and Egypt.
At the end of 2014, sight deposits formed 42% of total Bank's deposit base. This is up from 16.5% seen at the end of 2010. Fall in interest rates, economic crisis and fear from the collapse of the banking system seem to be the drivers of the flight to liquidity.
