The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 10.8% of average loans in 2015-12-31. That's compared to 6.24% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
Comparing Piraeus Bank Group with its closest peers, National Bank of Greece operated at the end of 2015-12-31 with NPL ratio of 42.5% and provision coverage of 74.6%, Alpha Bank Group with 39.2% and 52.7% respectively and Eurobank Group had 33.8% of bad loans covered with 67.4% by provisions at the end of 2015-12-31.
