Petrol passenger cars as a share of total cars fell 1.53% to 66.2% in Germany in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, petrol passenger cars as a share of total cars in Germany reached an all time high of 86.9% in 1993 and an all time low of 66.2% in 2015. When compared to Germany's main peers, petrol passenger cars as a share of total cars in Austria amounted to 42.8%, 37.9% in Belgium, 29.8% in France and 54.7% in Poland in 2015.
