Petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold fell 33.0% to 48.6% in Hungary in 2020, according to ACEA.
Historically, petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in Hungary reached an all time high of 97.1% in 1996 and an all time low of 41.5% in 2013. When compared to Hungary's main peers, petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in Austria amounted to 43.3%, 64.6% in Czech Republic, 62.6% in Poland and 61.9% in Slovakia in 2020.
Hungary has been ranked 18th within the group of 29 countries we follow in terms of petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold, 5 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
