Petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold fell 21.2% to 46.7% in Germany in 2020, according to ACEA.
Historically, petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in Germany reached an all time high of 90.2% in 1990 and an all time low of 46.7% in 2020. When compared to Germany's main peers, petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in Austria amounted to 43.3%, 51.8% in Belgium, 46.9% in France and 62.6% in Poland in 2020.
Germany has been ranked 21st within the group of 29 countries we follow in terms of petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold, 10 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
