Petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold fell 18.7% to 50.0% in Switzerland in 2020, according to ACEA.

Historically, petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in Switzerland reached an all time high of 97.3% in 1991 and an all time low of 50.0% in 2020. When compared to Switzerland's main peers, petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold in Austria amounted to 43.3%, 46.9% in France, 46.7% in Germany and 37.8% in Italy in 2020.

Switzerland has been ranked 16th within the group of 29 countries we follow in terms of petrol-fuelled as a share of new cars sold, 12 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
