Passenger cars per household rose 0.217% to 0.984 vehicles in the USA in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, passenger cars per household in the USA reached an all time high of 1.51 vehicles in 1980 and an all time low of 0.982 vehicles in 2013. When compared to USA's main peers, passenger cars per household in Canada amounted to 1.57 vehicles, 0.289 vehicles in China, 1.12 vehicles in Japan and 0.856 vehicles in Mexico in 2015.
