Historically, passenger cars per 1,000 people in Romania reached an all time high of 265 vehicles in 2019 and an all time low of 6.39 vehicles in 1970. When compared to Romania's main peers, passenger cars per 1,000 people in Bulgaria amounted to 493 vehicles, 337 vehicles in Hungary, 179 vehicles in Moldova and 184 vehicles in Ukraine in 2019.
