Historically, passenger cars per 1,000 people in Germany reached an all time high of 559 vehicles in 2019 and an all time low of 176 vehicles in 1970. When compared to Germany's main peers, passenger cars per 1,000 people in Austria amounted to 573 vehicles, 516 vehicles in Belgium, 497 vehicles in France and 600 vehicles in Poland in 2019.
