Passenger cars per 1,000 people rose 0.300% to 496 vehicles in France in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, passenger cars per 1,000 people in France reached an all time high of 497 vehicles in 2011 and an all time low of 246 vehicles in 1970. When compared to France's main peers, passenger cars per 1,000 people in Belgium amounted to 504 vehicles, 550 vehicles in Germany, 616 vehicles in Italy and 478 vehicles in Spain in 2015.
