Number of passenger cars rose 9.91% to 22.5 mil in India in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, number of passenger cars in India reached an all time high of 22.5 mil in 2015 and an all time low of 7.63 mil in 2005. When compared to India's main peers, number of passenger cars in Bangladesh amounted to 0.380 mil, 136 mil in China, 2.72 mil in Pakistan and 0.673 mil in Sri Lanka in 2015.
