Number of manufactured cigarettes sold per capita of 15+ years old fell 1.20% to 1,723 per year in Austria in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, number of manufactured cigarettes sold per capita of 15+ years old in Austria reached an all time high of 2,619 per year in 1979 and an all time low of 1,675 per year in 1961. When compared to Austria's main peers, number of manufactured cigarettes sold per capita of 15+ years old in Germany amounted to 1,091 per year, 885 per year in Hungary, 1,370 per year in Italy and 1,340 per year in Switzerland in 2016.
