Number of cigarettes consumed per day per capita fell 0.574% to 1.88 per day in Hungary in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, number of cigarettes consumed per day per capita in Hungary reached an all time high of 6.07 per day in 1999 and an all time low of 1.83 per day in 2014. When compared to Hungary's main peers, number of cigarettes consumed per day per capita in Austria amounted to 3.96 per day, 3.61 per day in Czech Republic, 2.51 per day in Poland and 3.29 per day in Slovakia in 2016.

Hungary has been ranked 24th within the group of 30 countries we follow in terms of number of cigarettes consumed per day per capita, 16 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
