Non-performing loans fell 23.8% to USD 0.177 bil in Brunei in 2017, according to the National Central Bank.

Historically, non-performing loans in Brunei reached an all time high of USD 0.442 bil in 2009 and an all time low of USD 0.177 bil in 2017. When compared to Brunei's main peers, non-performing loans in Indonesia amounted to USD 9.08 bil, USD 6.02 bil in Malaysia, USD 2.56 bil in Philippines and USD 5.69 bil in Vietnam in 2017.
