Non-performing loans as a share of bank loans rose 9.68% yoy to 2.04% in Slovakia in 1Q2024, according to the National Central Bank. This is 2.57% more than in the previous quarter.
Historically, non-performing loans as a share of bank loans in Slovakia reached an all time high of 6.40% in 3Q2010 and an all time low of 1.86% in 4Q2022. When compared to Slovakia's main peers, non-performing loans as a share of bank loans in Austria amounted to 2.56%, 1.18% in Czechia, 3.11% in Hungary and 2.26% in Poland in 1Q2024.
Slovakia has been ranked 47th within the group of 78 countries we follow in terms of non-performing loans as a share of bank loans.
