Non-Performing Loans (As % of Total Loans) rose 29.0% yoy to 24.1% in Ghana in 2Q2024

Non-performing loans as a share of bank loans rose 29.0% yoy to 24.1% in Ghana in 2Q2024, according to the National Central Bank. This is 9.75% less than in the previous quarter.

Historically, non-performing loans as a share of bank loans in Ghana reached an all time high of 26.7% in 1Q2024 and an all time low of 7.62% in 3Q2008.

Ghana has been ranked 2nd within the group of 62 countries we follow in terms of non-performing loans as a share of bank loans, 18 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
