Non-performing loans as a share of bank loans fell 4.02% yoy to 1.56% in China in 2Q2024, according to the National Central Bank. This is 2.00% less than in the previous quarter.
Historically, non-performing loans as a share of bank loans in China reached an all time high of 1.96% in 3Q2020 and an all time low of 1.50% in 2Q2015.
China has been ranked 63rd within the group of 80 countries we follow in terms of non-performing loans as a share of bank loans, 63 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
