Non-Performing Loans (As % of Total Loans) fell 11.4% yoy to 3.06% in Malta in 1Q2024

Non-performing loans as a share of bank loans fell 11.4% yoy to 3.06% in Malta in 1Q2024, according to the National Central Bank. This is 2.62% less than in the previous quarter.

Historically, non-performing loans as a share of bank loans in Malta reached an all time high of 11.8% in 1Q2005 and an all time low of 3.06% in 1Q2024.

Malta has been ranked 40th within the group of 89 countries we follow in terms of non-performing loans as a share of bank loans, 9 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
