Non-performing loans as a share of bank loans fell 10.9% yoy to 3.06% in Kazakhstan in 1Q2024, according to the National Central Bank. This is 5.99% more than in the previous quarter.
Historically, non-performing loans as a share of bank loans in Kazakhstan reached an all time high of 22.6% in 3Q2010 and an all time low of 2.89% in 4Q2023.
Kazakhstan has been ranked 39th within the group of 89 countries we follow in terms of non-performing loans as a share of bank loans, 32 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
