Historically, five years cumulative net migration in Italy reached an all time high of 485,871 persons in 2007 and an all time low of -145,608 persons in 1960. When compared to Italy's main peers, five years cumulative net migration in Austria amounted to 20,314 persons, 20,614 persons in France, 4,568 persons in Slovenia and 23,872 persons in Switzerland in 2021.
Italy has been ranked 24th within the group of 176 countries we follow in terms of five years cumulative net migration, 13 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
