Historically, motor vehicles per 1,000 people in Taiwan reached an all time high of 327 vehicles in 2015 and an all time low of 290 vehicles in 2008. When compared to Taiwan's main peers, motor vehicles per 1,000 people in China amounted to 117 vehicles, 93.1 vehicles in Hong Kong and 37.9 vehicles in Philippines in 2015.
