Historically, merchandise trade as a share of GDP in Sweden reached an all time high of 68.0% in 2008 and an all time low of 31.5% in 1967. When compared to Sweden's main peers, merchandise trade as a share of GDP in Denmark amounted to 61.8%, 56.5% in Finland, 53.5% in Norway and 44.9% in Russia in 2021.
