Historically, merchandise trade as a share of GDP in Luxembourg reached an all time high of 117% in 2006 and an all time low of 47.3% in 2020. When compared to Luxembourg's main peers, merchandise trade as a share of GDP in Belgium amounted to 178%, 43.9% in France, 71.6% in Germany and 157% in Netherlands in 2021.
