Historically, maize production in Romania reached an all time high of 18,664 kt in 2018 and an all time low of 3,854 kt in 2007. When compared to Romania's main peers, maize production in Bulgaria amounted to 3,427 kt, 6,425 kt in Hungary, 2,793 kt in Moldova and 42,110 kt in Ukraine in 2021.
